tert-butanol (TBA) The groundwater samples collected from monitoring
well MW-2 contained 3,000 ppb TPH-G, 320 ppb benzene, 97 ppb toluene,
180 ppb ethyl benzene, 200 ppb total xylenes, 1,900 ppb MTBE, 5 6 p p b
tert-amyl-methyl-ether (TAME), and 160 ppb TBA Groundwater samples
collected from monitoring well MW-3 contained 8 4 ppb MTBE
Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-4 contained
380 ppb TPH-G, 37 ppb benzene, 43 ppb ethyl benzene, 4 3 total xylenes,
140 ppb MTBE, and 5 8 ppb TAME Groundwater samples collected from
monitoring well MW-5 contained 350 ppb TPH-G, 0 62 ppb ethyl benzene,
15 ppb MTBE, and 7 6 ppb TBA No other hydrocarbons were detected
above laboratory reporting limits in any of the groundwater samples
collected
Due to the limited quarterly groundwater monitoring data for the site, it
is difficult to identify any clear or significant trends that may suggest
contaminant levels are increasing of decreasing at this time It is noted
that all contaminant concentrations in monitoring well MW-5 decreased
since the last sampling was performed at the site, but because only two
sampling rounds have been performed, this is also inconclusive as to an
overall contaminant concentration trend The remaining groundwater
analytical data from the remaining wells at the site did not show any clear
trends
s 5.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
ASE recommends the subject site remain on a quarterly sampling
schedule The next sampling is scheduled for April 2001 ASE
recommends that analysis for lead scavengers and alcohols be
discontinued during future sampling periods
The PHS-EHD has requested that an area well survey be conducted, and a
deeper monitoring well be installed at the site A workplan to conduct
these activities will be prepared during the next quarter
6.0 REPORT LIMITATIONS
The results presented in this report represent the conditions at the time
of the groundwater sampling, at the specific locations where the
groundwater samples were collected, and for the specific parameters
analyzed by the laboratory It does not fully characterize the site f or
contamination resulting from sources other than the former underground
storage tanks and associated plumbing at the site, or for parameters n o t
analyzed by the laboratory All of the laboratory work cited in this report
Singh's Unical Service Station Quarterly Report - January 2001 Sampling
-3-
