N..o
CHRONOLOGY
7-Eleven Store #32262
2360 Grant Line Road
Tracy, CA 95367
05/03/03 Grab water samples were collected from two tank pit observation wells by
7-Eleven, Inc.'s consultant (SECOR) during dispenser upgrade activities on this
date. Petroleum hydrocarbon contamination was reported in the water samples
with concentrations of up to 510,000 micrograms per liter (Ng/1) of methyl tertiary
butyl ether (MtBE).
05/19/03 Unauthorized Release Report and Notification of Hazardous Waste Discharge
#03-028 were submitted this date.
05/29/03 Three underground storage tanks (UST's) were removed this date under San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) permit and inspection.
During the excavation dewatering activities approximately 199,000 gallons of
water, and an estimated 244 pounds of MtBE, were removed.
05/29/03 A Notice of Responsibility was sent this date to responsible party 7-Eleven, Inc.
06/02/03 Samples (T1-10' through T9-14') were collected this date from the bottom of the
tank excavation; laboratory analyses reported petroleum hydrocarbon impact.
06/24/03 A Record Title Owner letter was received this date by the EHD. The owner of the
property is YLY LLC; lessee of the property is 7-Eleven, Inc.
0513/04 A Notice of Responsibility was sent this date to property owner YLY LLC and
tank owner/operator 7-Eleven, Inc.
10/15-17/03 Six groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-5 and MW-6D) were
installed during this time. See SECOR's 'Site Assessment Report' dated
December 12, 2003,
10/30/03 Routine quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling began on this date.
06/02/04 Installation of one groundwater monitoring well (MW-7), one oxygen injection test
well (S-1) and one groundwater extraction well (EX-1) occured on this date. See
SECOR's 'Results of Site Assessment, Feasibility Testing and Site Conceptual
Model Report' dated September 30, 2004.
06/21/04 SECOR conducted an oxygen injection test this date, but they did not follow their
work plan. Citing a very small radius of influence SECOR concluded that oxygen
injection was not a feasible remedial alternative for this site. See SECOR Report
dated September 30, 2004.
07/26/04 Two groundwater monitoring wells (MW-8 and MW-9) were installed offsite on
this date. See SECOR Report dated September 30, 2004.
08/02/04 Two CPT Borings (CPT-1 and CPT-2) were installed on this date. See SECOR
Report dated September 30, 2004.
