Installation of one monitoring well to approximately 50 feet below surface grade (bsg) for investigation of the vertical
E extent of the petroleum hydrocarbon contamination at the site. The boring will be continuously cored from surface
to total depth. A 15-inch diameter conductor casing will be set to approximately 30 feet bsg prior to drilling to total
depth and setting the well casing. Final placement of the 5-foot well screen will be determined in the field, based on
the lithology of the core samples.
2. Soil and groundwater sample analyses performed as outlined in work plan addendum.
COMMENTS AND ONDITI NS:
the core soil samples
1. As the deep monitorin. g well is being set in unknown hydrogeological conditions,
should be evaluated.in the field to verify the proper and effective placement of the conductor casing. The
conductor casing should bottom in an appropriate fine grained interval.
2. Five shallow monitoring will be installed on site per the 5JC/EHD approval letter dated August 22,2003.
3. As previously directed, site fieldwork and initiation of quarterly groundwater monitoring must be completed by
November 14,2003. Well installations are currently scheduled to take place October 14-16,2003.
4. A report of findings must be submitted to SJC/EHD within 60-days following completion of the fieldwork.
.40
Lori Duncan,Senior RF-HS Nuel C.Henderson,Jr.,R.G.
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site IN-litigation Unit IV
H.
cc: James Baitori,CVRWQCB
Brian Carey;SECOR
