This work plan was prepared in response to the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) letter stamp dated August 22, 2003 requesting an
addendum to the SECOR's Soil and Groundwater Assess Work Plan dated August 12, 2003 to
address the issue of vertical definition of the contamination at the site (Attachment A).
It is SECOR's professional opinion that installation of a deep depth discrete well in the initial phase of
assessment of the shallow groundwater conditions should be deferred until the distribution of the
dissolved plume, flow direction, and gradient in the shallow groundwater at the site have been
determined. After completion of two to three quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling events
at the site, SECOR will review the quarterly results and submit a work plan to define the vertical
extent of dissolved gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons at the site. If the lateral extent of
dissolved gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons has not been defined, SECOR will also
recommend additional wells to further defined lateral extent of the dissolved plume.
Should you have any questions regarding this site, please contact the undersigned at (916) 861-
0400 extension 223.
Sincerely,
SECOR International Incorporated
Jaff Auchterlonie
Project Manager
i
<ZYhE"B`oLR.G:
+ Principal Geologist
Attachments: Attachment A- Regulatory Letters
cc: John Wainwright, SECOR/Ken Hilliard, 7-Eleven Inc.
Mr. James L.
