On July 13, 1993, a representative of Advance Soil Technology, Inc. was present and collected soil samples from excavated soils stockpiled at the site after removal of the underground storage tank. This sampling was performed for the determination of concentration of the contaminants in the stockpiled soils. A total of five soil samples were collected according to the guidelines established by the State of California Leaking Underground Fuel Tank (LUFT) Field Manual. Sample locations are shown in Figure 2. The to 18 inches of soil was removed from the stockpiled soil at the location of each P P sampling area and then a clean brass liner was driven into the soil until completely filled with soil. All soil samples were collected in 2-inch diameter, 6-inch long, new brass liners. After removal, the ends of each sample liner were covered with aluminum foil, capped at each end by plastic caps, and Sealed with tape. Each sample was immediately labeled with site identification and recorded on the chain-of custody form. After labelling each sample was immediately placed on dry ice in an ice.chest. The samples subsequently transported under Chain-of-Custody to the State-certified Priority Labs. 3
