(WHF) for the above referenced site. <br /> Pursuant to Section 280.73 of the Federal Register, September 1988, PEWBJJD is the <br /> lead agency for this site and it has been placed in the Local Oversight Program. <br /> "Tri-Regional, Board Staff Recommendations" dated August 10, 1990, are enclosed for <br /> your reference. Please note on page 10 of the recommendations it discusses installation <br /> of one monitoring well within 10 feet of the tank in the verified down-gradient direction. <br /> The gradient is to be determined by monitoring wells on this site or an adjacent site. ` <br /> The Moore Petroleum site would not be considered adjacent to this site. <br /> PHS was notified on February 18, 1993 by WHF that the monitoring well has <br /> already been installed. Unfortunately the well was installed without approval or permit <br /> from PHS/EHD. Three monitoring wells should have been installed initially so that the <br /> site specific gradient could be determined and verification of a down-gradient wen could <br /> be made. - - <br /> The site map enckned in the report does not indicate where the former underground <br /> storage tank (UST) or its piping were looted. Please obtain the location of the tank and . <br /> piping from the former owner or operator of the LST and show the locations on the site <br /> MgLp- <br /> The definition of responsible parties is enclosed. Please provide PHSMHD with the <br /> name(s) and address(es) of the owner or operator of the UST before its use was <br /> discontinued.
