• Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2003
' GRANT LINE GAS & FOOD
2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Mr Joe Toste Jr, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE), has prepared this
quarterly report for field activities performed at 2420 Grant Line Road,Tracy,California during the
first quarter 2003 The site setting is illustrated in Figure 1 Monitoring well and boring locations on
' the site are illustrated in Figure 2
A detailed summary of previous work performed at the site was presented in the AGE-prepared
' documents titled Quarterly Report-March 1996,dated 15 April 1996 and Quarterly Report-March
1999, dated 10 May 1999 Monitoring and sample data from January 1994 to the present are
summarized in Tables 1 through 3 of this report
' 2.0. PROCEDURES
This report is prepared in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB)guidelines for investigation of underground storage tank(UST) sites The field work
was conducted in accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health Departinent(EHD)
guidelines for sampling ground water monitoring wells
2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
' On 12 March 2003, the water levels in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8 were measured
relative to the tops of the well casings using a Solinst water level meter After water levels were
' measured, wells MW-1 through MW-8 were evacuated (purged) utilizing a dedicated, disposable
plastic bailer, approximately 15 to 6 gallons (a minimum of three casing-water volumes per well)
of water were removed from each well Temperature, pH and conductivity of the purged ground
' water were measured at regular intervals using an Oakton water analyzer during purging, the
measurements had stabilized by the end of the purging process Purged water was stored on-site in
labeled 55-gallon,Department of Transportation(DOT)-approved drums Field logs are included in
' Appendix A
' 22 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' Prior to collection of ground water samples, the depth to ground water was gauged in the purged
wells to ensure that a minimum of 80%of the initial well volume had recharged Afterwards, water
samples were collected from each well using the dedicated, disposable plastic bailer and transferred
' into three chilled 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric
Advanced GeoEnv uonmental Inc
