V !F
' 14 January 2003
. AGE-NC Project No 95-0111
of 1,900 µg/l and 700 µg/1,respectively, TPH-d was not analyzed in the sample collected from well
' MW-2 because the sample container ruptured during transport to the laboratory
Toluene was detected in sample MW-2 at a concentration o£0 57 µg/1, no other BTEX compounds
' were detected in the samples analyzed
MTBE was detected utilizing EPA method 8260 in the ground water samples collected from MW-1,
' MW-3, MW-4 and MW-6 through MW-8 at concentrations of between 0 57 µg/1 (MW-4) and
580 gg/1 (MW-8) No other fuel additives were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in
' the ground water samples analyzed
Analytical results of the ground water samples are summarized in Tables 2 and 3 The laboratory
' report(MAI Laboratory I D Nos 0209368-001 through 0209368-008),quality assurance and quality
control report and chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix B
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
lie
Based on the findings from this investigation, AGE concludes
• The northerly ground water flow direction inferred from data collected during this
' monitoring event is consistent with ground water flow directions determined during past
monitoring events at the site
• TPH-d was detected in the ground water samples collected from wells MW-4 and MW-5 at
' concentrations of 1,900µg/1 and 700 µg/l,respectively TPH-g was not detected at or above
laboratory reporting limits in the ground water samples
' Toluene was present in sample MW-2 at a concentration of 0 57 µg/l,which is just above the
detection limit of 0 5 pg/l
' • MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8260 in the samples collected from MW-1, MW-3,
MW-4 and MW-6 through MW-8 The MTBE concentration in easternmost well MW-8
increased significantly, to 580 µg/l, exceeding the DHS's Primary Maximum Contaminant
' Level (MCL) in drinking water for the first time In addition, the MTBE concentration of
12 µg/1 in sample MW-1 exceeded the DHS' Secondary MCL in drinking water
• No other fuel additives, including 1,2-DCA and EDB were detected at or above laboratory
' reporting limits in the ground water samples analyzed A map illustrating the approximate
extent of TPH-d- and MTBE-impacted ground water is depicted on Figure 4
• Advanced GeoEnvironrnental Inc
