' 06 May 2002
AGE-NC Project No 95-0111
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' TPH-g and BTEX compounds were not detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the ground
water samples TPH-d was detected in the ground water samples collected from wells MW-1,MW-4
' and MW-5 at concentrations of 1,100 µg/1, 1,200 µg/1 and 410 µg/l, respectively
' MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8020 in the sample collected from MW-1 at a concentration
of 63 µg11 Utilizing EPA method 8260,MTBE was confirmed in the same ground water sample at
a concentration of 78µg/l and detected in the samples collected from wells MW-7 and MW-8 at
' concentrations of 12 µg/1 and 4 7 µg/l, respectively No other fuel additives were detected at or
above laboratory reporting limits in the ground water samples analyzed
Analytical results of the ground water samples are summarized in Tables 2 and 3 The laboratory
report(MAI Laboratory I D Nos 0203416-001 through 0203416-008),quality assurance and quality
control report and cham-of-custody forms are included in Appendix B
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
lie Based on the findings from this investigation, AGE concludes
• The northerly ground water flow direction inferred from data collected during this
monitoring event is consistent with ground water flow directions determined during past
monitoring events at the site
• TPH-d was detected in the ground water samples collected from wells`MW-1, MW-4 and
MW-5 at concentrations of 1,100 µg/1, 1,200 µg/l and 410 gg/l, respectively TPH-g and
BTEX compounds were not detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the ground
water samples
' • MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8260 in the samples collected from MW-1,MW-7 and
MW-8 at concentrations of 78 gg/l, 1 2 µg/1 and 4 7 µg/l, respectively No other fuel
additives, including 1,2-DCA and EDB were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits
in the ground water samples analyzed A map illustrating the approximate extent of TPH-d-
and MTBE-impacted ground water is depicted on Figure 4
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of this investigation, AGE recommends the site be considered for closure
Advanced GeoEnvvonmental Inc
I
