r Quarterly Report - October 1997 • GRANT LINE GAS & FOOD 2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California - 1.0. INTRODUCTION In accordance with a request from Mr Joe Toste, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE), has prepared this Quarterly Report for the field activities performed at 2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California Quarterly ground water monitoring activities were conducted on 29 October 1997 The general setting of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 -Location Map Monitoring well locations on the site are illustrated in Figure 2 -Site Plan A detailed background of previous work performed at the site was presented in the Quarterly Report- December 1996, dated 28 February 1991W, prepared by AGE The quarterly monitoring and sampling was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB) guidelines for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites io 2.0. PROCEDURES 21 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES ! IOn 29 October 1997, the water level in each monitoring well was measured relative to the top of the well casing in each well using a Solinst water level meter After water levels were measured, a two- stage submersible pump was used to purge each well Three to five gallons (minimum of three well volumes) of water were removed from each well Temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at one-gallon intervals using an ICM water analyzer during purging, and had generally stabilized (Appendix A)by the end of the purging process Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon,DOT- approved drums 22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES Water samples were collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer Each water sample was transferred into two 40-m1 VOA vials and one I-liter amber bottle After collection, the samples were labeled and placed in a chilled container for transportation under chain-of-custody to F McCampbell Analytical, Inc , (MAI), in Pacheco, California Samples were analyzed in accordance with EPA Methods 5030/8015m for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and as diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d), in accordance with EPA Method 8020/602 for volatile aromatics(benzene,toluene,ethyl benzene and total xylenes BTE&X) Advanced GeoEnvsronmental Inc.
