CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
r
41 CONCLUSIONS
rBased upon data collected from the site, AGE has the following conclusions
r During the March 1997 monitoring event, ground water flow direction at the site was
generally toward the north-northeast
S _
r • In general, over the last quarter concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons decreased in
monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-5 The concentrations of TPH and benzene
increased in monitoring well MW-4 over the Iast quarter `
r • It appears that monitoring well MW-6 is located past the down-gradient margin of the plume
of dissolved hydrocarbons
• The western and eastern extent of the dissolved hydrocarbon phune along Grant Line Road,
has not been determined
4 2 RECOMMENDATIONS
rBased on present site conditions, AGE has the following recommendations
• Additional monitoring wells should be installed east of MW-5 and consideration should be
given to installing a monitoring point west of MW-4?, along Grant Line Road Proposed
monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 ,
• If ground water remediation is required for the site, feasibility testing should be performed
to evaluate various remedial alternatives
r ,
Quarterly monitoring and sampling should continue at the site The next quarterly monitoring
should be scheduled for June 1997
r '
5.0.
