INTRODUCTION
In accordance with a request from Mr Joe Toste, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has
' prepared this Quarterly Report for the field activities performed at 2420 Grant Line Road in Tracy,
California Quarterly ground water monitoring activities were conducted on 04 June 1996 The
location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 - Location Map A plan of the site is illustrated in Figure
' 2 - Site Plan A detailed background of pre,,Sous work performed at the site was presented in the
Quarterly Report - March 1996, dated 15 April 1996, prepared by AGE
' The quarterly monitoring and sampling is performed in accordance with both the San Joaquin
County Public Health Services- Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD)and the Central Valley
' Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for investigation of underground
storage tank (UST) sites
2.0 PROCEDURES
' 2 1 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 04 June 1996, the water level in each monitoring well was measured relative to the top of the
' casing using a Solinst water level meter The depths to ground water and zelative ground water
elevations are depicted in Table 1 An MMC interface probe was used to measure the free product
thickness to wells MW-4 and MW-5
5
After water levels were measured, a two-stage submersible pump was used to purge each well Five
gallons (minimum of three well volumes) of water were removed from each well until temperature,
r pH and conductivity had stabilized (Appendix B) Stabilization parameters were measured at one-
gallon intervals using an ICM water analyzer Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon DOT
drums
5
22 COLLECTION OF GRQUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer Each water
sample was collected in two 40-m1 VOA vials and one I-liter amber bottle After collection, the
samples were placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody procedures to
McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI) in Pacheco, California Each sample was analyzed for total
