22 Jtily 1996
AGE-NC Project No 95-0111
' - 4 0. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Low concentrations of MTBE and.TPH-d were detected the sample collected from MW-6, located
t along the north side of Grant Line Road It is likely that this well is located near the down-gradient
extent of impacted hydrocarbon plume However, the eastern extent of the hydrocarbon plume has
not been determined Additional monitoring wells may be required to define the dissolved _
' hydrocarbon plume to the satisfaction of the PHS-EHD
If additional wells are required, we recommend the installation of a well east of MW-5, along Grant
' Line Road and west of MW-4 also along Grant Line Road The proposed monitoring well locations
are illustrated on Figure 2
' Although concentrations of TPH are considerably high in wells MW-4 and MW-5, BTE&X
concentrations are relatively low However, if ground water remediation is required for the site,
' feasibility testing should be performed to determine acceptable remedial alternatives
Quarterly monitoring and sampling should continue at the site The next quarterly monitoring
should be scheduled for September 1996 If additional monitoring wells or feasibility testing is
required, field work should be performed prior to monitoring
1 5.0. LIMITATIONS
' Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologxc/hydrogeologic
' conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number of -
available data points (i a monitoring wells) and subsurface conditions may vary away from these
data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
recommendations contained iii this report
• r
t
