' File No. 94342-QM94 Page 8
1
' 4 .0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
No floating products or sheen were observed by us during sampling
' of the groundwater. The results of the recent laboratory analysis 1
of the groundwater revealed elevated amount of contamination in
monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 . Comparison of the recent
' laboratory result with the previous results of the groundwater
indicated that the concentration of total petroleum hydrocarbon as
gasoline and diesel has been reduced in wells MW-1 and MW-2 . The
' results also revealed that the amount of Benzene slightly increased
in monitoring well MW-2 .in respect to the last results. The
groundwater level monitoring performed by our firm based on the
monthly check, indicated groundwater flow in the north, and
' northeast direction.
To further define the contamination plume at the subject site, we
are proposing to install three additional monitoring wells.✓These
wells will be installed at the locations shown in Figure 3 of this
report. Monitoring well MW-4 will be installed north of the
existing monitoring well MW-1 in close proximity to the property
' line, depending on the location of the existing underground
utility lines at the site. Monitoring well MW-5 will be installed
northeast of the existing monitoring well MW-2 on the adjacent
' property(if permission is obtained) Monitoring well MW-5 will be
installed on the west side of the existing pump islands and close
to the western property line. Soil samples will be collected from
' these borings at five foot intervals and up to the groundwater
level. The borings will then be converted to monitoring wells.
Soil and groundwater sampling will be conducted in accordance to
the San Joaquin County, Public Health Department and Regional Water
' Quality Control Board. The subDect work is scheduled to be
performed in July 1994 , pending the approval of our client, and
obtaining the appropriate permits for the monitoring wells, and the
' approval of the property owner of the adDacent property.
The monthly groundwater level measurement and quarterly groundwater
sampling shall continue at the site. The next quarterly
groundwater sampling is scheduled for July 1994 .
1
1
' ADVANCE SOIL TECHNOLOGY, INC
