' 04 March 2002
AGE-NC Project No 95-0111
Page 4 of
laboratory reporting limits in the ground water samples, however the laboratory detection
' limit was 1,000 µg/1
MTBE was detected in the sample collected from MW-1 at a concentration of 79 µg/1 No
' other fuel additives, including 1,2-DCA and EDB were detected at or above laboratory
reporting limits in the ground water samples analyzed A map illustrating the approximate
extent of TPH-g- and MTBE-impacted ground water is depicted on Figure 4
• No analytes were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the ground water sample
collected from the Domestic well located at 2450 Toste Road (DW2450)
• The laboratory results of water samples collected in September 2001 of the microbiological
analysis indicate low to moderate populations of organisms capable of gasoline and diesel
metabolism However, nutrient concentrations are at moderate to high levels for ongoing
bioremediation Analytical results of the ground water samples collected in September 2001
are summarized in Table 4
• A mass balance calculation was performed to determine the mass of TPH-g- and
TPH-d-impacted soil and the volume of adsorbed gasoline and diesel in the soil There is
approximately 17,100 grams and 6 gallon of gasoline and 59,850 grams and 19 gallons of
. diesel The extent of impacted soil is depicted in cross sectional view in Figure 5 and areal
view in Figure 6 Analytical results of soil samples are summarized in Table 5 and the mass
balance calculations and assumptions are presented in Appendix C
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of this investigation, AGE recommends the site be considered for closure
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation were made from a limited number of
available data points (i a ground water monitoring well samples) and subsurface conditions may
' vary away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the
professional recommendations contained in this report
1 .
• Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc
I
