Ground Water Monitoring Report - Third Quarter 2001
' GRANT LINE GAS & FOOD
2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
5
' 1.0 INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Mr Joe Toste Jr , Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE), has prepared this
quarterly report for field activities performed at 2420 Grant Line Road', Tracy,California during the
third quarter 2001 The site setting is illustrated in Figure 1 Monitoring well and boring locations
' on the site are illustrated in Figure 2
A detailed summary of previous work performed at the site was presented in the AGE-prepared
documents titled Quarterly Report-March 1996,dated 15 April 1996 and Quarterly Report-March
1999, dated 10 May 1999 Monitoring and sample data from January 1994 to the present are
summarized in Tables 1 through 3 of this report
' 2.0. PROCEDURES
This report is prepared in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB)guidelines for investigation of underground storage tank(UST)sites The field work
' . was conducted in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental
Health Division (PHS-EHD) guidelines for sampling ground water monitoring wells
I
2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
' On 17 September 2001,the water levels in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8 were measured
relative to the tops of the well casings using a Solinst water level meter After water levels were
' measured, a disposable plastic bailer was used to evacuate (purge) each well Approximately three
to five gallons (a minimum of three casing-water volumes)of water were removed from each well
Temperature, pH and conductivity of the purged groundwater were measured at regular intervals
' using an ICM water analyzer during purging The measurements had stabilized by the end of the
purging process Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon, Department of Transportation
(DOT)-approved drums Field logs are included in Appendix A
I
2 2 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' Prior to collection of ground water samples, the depth to ground water was gauged in each purged
I well to ensure, that a minimum of 80%of the initial well volume had recharged Water samples were
collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer Water samples collected from wells
MW-2,MW-3,MW-5,MW-6,MW-7 and MW-8 was transferred into one 1-liter amber bottle and
water samples from wells MW-1 and MW-4 were transferred into two I-liter amber bottles all
IAdvanced GeoEnviroamental Inc
