' Ground Water Monitoring Report - Second Quarter 2001
' GRANT LINE GAS & FOOD
2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
t1.0. INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Mr Joe Toste Jr, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE), has prepared this
quarterly report for field activities performed at 2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California during the
second quarter 2001 The site setting is illustrated in Figure 1 Monitoring well and boring locations
' on the site are illustrated in Figure 2
1
A detailed background of previous work performed at the site was presented in the AGE-prepared
' documents titled Quarterly Report-March 1996, dated 15 April 1996 and Quarterly Report-March
1999, dated 10 May 1999 Monitoring and sample data from January 1994 to the present are
summarized in Tables 1 through 3
1
2.0. PROCEDURES
' Field work was conducted and this report was prepared in accordance with guidelines established
. by the Central Valley Region of the Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for
' subsurface investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites and guidelines established by San
Joaquin County Public Health Services -Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) for sampling
' ground water monitoring wells
' 2 1 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 22 June 2001,the water levels in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8 were measured relative
' to the tops of the well casings using a Solinst water level meter After water levels were measured,
a disposable plastic bailer was used to purge each well Approximately one to six gallons (a
minimum of three casmg-water volumes) of water were removed from each well Temperature, pH
' and conductivity of the purged ground water were measured at regular intervals using an Oakton
water analyzer during purging The measurements had stabilized by the end of the purging process
Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon,Department of Transportation(DOT)-approved drums
' Field logs are included in Appendix A
' 2 2 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Prior to collection of ground water samples, the depth to ground water was gauged in each purged
' well to ensure that a minimum of 80% of the initial well volume had recharged Water samples were
collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer Each water sample was transferred
into one 1-liter amber bottle without a sample preservative and into three chilled 40-m1 volatile
1
Advanced GcoEnvironmentak Inc
I
