•S ° lw <br /> r <br /> w i <br /> r <br /> Ground Water Monitoring Report - First Quarter 2001 <br /> GRANTyLINE GAS & FOOD <br /> 2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California <br /> 1 0 INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Joe Toste Jr , Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE), has prepared this <br /> quarterly report for field activities performed at 2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California The site <br /> setting is illustrated to Figure 1, Monitoring well locations on the site are illustrated'in Figure 2 <br /> A detailed background of previous work performed at the site was presented in the AGE-prepared <br /> documents titled Quarterly Report-March 1996,dated 15 April 1996 and Quarterly Report-March <br /> 1999, dated 10 May 1999 Monitoring and sample data from January 1994 to the present are <br /> I <br /> ummarized in Tables 1 through 3 <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> The ground water sampling activities and the report preparation were conducted in accordance with <br /> the Central Valley Region of the Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) and San <br /> • Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) guidelines <br /> 2 1 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES <br /> On 23 March 2001, the water levels in,monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8 were measured <br />' relative to the tops of the well casings using a Solinst water level meter After water levels were <br /> measured, a 2-stage submersible pump was used to purge each well Three to five gallons (a <br /> minimum of three casing-water volumes) of water were removed from each well Temperature, pH <br /> I and conductivity of the purged ground water were measured at regular intervals using a Hydac water <br /> analyzer during purging The measurements had stabilized by the end of the purging process Purged <br /> water was stored on-site in 55,-gallon,Department of Transportation(DOT)-approved,drums Field <br /> logs are included in Appendix A <br /> 22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES AND ANALYTICAL PROTOCOL <br /> ' Prior to collection of ground water samples, the depth to ground water was gauged in each purged <br /> Iwell to ensure that a minimum of 80%of the initial well volume had recharged Water samples were <br /> collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer Each water sample was transferred 4 <br /> into one 1-liter amber bottle without a sample preservative and into three chilled 40-m1 volatile <br /> Iorganic analysis (VOA) vials' containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid (HCI) as a sample, <br /> . preservative <br /> I <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc <br />
