PROCEDURES <br />' The gi ound watei monitoring activities wei e conducted in accoi dance with Central Valley Regional <br /> Watet Quality Conti of Boar d and San Joaquin County Public Health Services-Envii onmental Health <br /> Division (PHS-EHD) guidelines <br /> 1 <br /> 2 1 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES <br />' On 17 April 2000, the water level in monitor mg wells MW-1 through MW-8 was measured 1 elative <br /> to the tops of the well casings using a Solinst water level meter After water levels were measured, <br />' a two-stage submersible pump was used to pui ge each well Two to six gallons (a minimum of thr ee <br /> well volumes) of water wei e removed from each well Tempel ature, pH and conductivity of the <br /> put ged gi ound water wei e measui ed at one and two-gallon inter vals using a Hydac water analyzer <br /> dui ing pui ging The measurements had genei ally stabilized by the end of the purging pi ocess Purged <br /> watei was stat ed on-site in 55-gallon, Department of Ti ansportation (DOT)-appy oved drums Field <br /> Ilogs are included in Appendix A <br />' 22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Pi ioi to collection of ground water samples,the depth to gi ound water was measured in each purged <br /> well to ensure that a minimum of 80% of the well volume had recharged Water samples were <br /> collected from each well using anew disposable plastic bailer Each water sample was ti ansfen ed into <br /> one 1-1 ambei bottle and three chilled 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 rn1 <br /> 18% hydrochloric acrd (HCl) as a sample presei vative On 18 Apr il 2000, MW-4 was 1 e-sampled <br /> because the I-litei ambei bottle broke during tiansport to McCambell Analytical, Inc (MAI) Aftel <br /> collection, the samples were labeled and placed in a chilled container for transportation undei chain- <br /> of-custody to MAI, a California Department of Health Sei vices(DHS)-certified analytical laboi atoiy <br /> • <br /> IAdvanced GeoEnvironrnental Inc <br />
