I
Quarterly Report - June 1999
' GRANT LINE GAS & FOOD
2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Mr Joe Toste Jr , Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE), has prepared this
Quarterly Report for field activities performed at 2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California The site
setting is illustrated in Figure 1 Monitoring well locations on the site are illustrated in Figure 2 A
' detailed background of previous work performed at the site was presented in Quarterly Report -
December 1996, dated 28 February 1996, prepared by AGE
' 2.0. PROCEDURES
' The ground water monitoring activities were conducted in accordance with Central Valley Regional
Water Quality Control Board and San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental
' Health Division (PHS-EHD) guidelines
lie 2 4 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
The water level in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 and MW-5 through MW-8,was measured
' relative to the tops of the well casings using a Solinst water level meter After water levels were
measured, a two-stage submersible pump was used to purge each well Eight gallons (a minimum
of three well volumes) of water were removed from each well Temperature, pH and conductivity
' were measured at two-gallon intervals using an ICM water analyzer during purging, and the values
had generally stabilized by the end of the purging process Purged water was stored on-site in 55-
gallon, Department of Transportation(DOT)-approved drums Field logs are included in Appendix
tA
' 25 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' Prior to collection of ground water samples, the depth to ground water was measured in each purged
well to ensure that a minimum of 80% of the well volume had recharged Water samples were
collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer Each water sample was transferred
' into thr6e chilled 40-m1 vials containing 0 5 ml 18% HCL as a sample preservative and into one I-
amber Iiter bottle After collection, the samples were labeled and placed in a chilled container for
transportation under chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI), a California
' Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory located in Pacheco, California
. Each sample was analyzed for
1
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc
1
