INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Mr Joe Toste Jr , Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE), has prepared this
Quarterly Report for field activities performed at 2420 Grant Line Road, Tracy, California The site
setting is illustrated in Figure 1 Monitoring well locations on the site are illustrated in Figure 2 A
' detailed background of previous work performed at the site was presented in Quarterly Report -
December 1996, dated 28 February 1996, prepared by AGE
2.0. PROCEDURES
The quarterly ground water monitoring event was conducted on 17 December 1998 The quarterly
monitoring and sampling was performed in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality
' Control Board (CVRWQCB) and San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental
Health Division(PHS-EHD) guidelines for the subsurface investigation of underground storage tank
• (UST) sites
1
' 21 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
The water level in each monitoring well was measured relative to the tops of the well casings using
' a Solxnst water level meter After water levels were measured, a two-stage submersible pump was
used to purge each well Three to four gallons (minimum of three well volumes) of water were
removed from each well Temperature,pH and conductivity were measured at one-gallon intervals
' using an 1CM water analyzer during purging, and the values had generally stabilized by the end of
the purging process (Appendix A) Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon, Department of
Transportation (DOT)-approved drums
22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Prior to collection of ground water samples, the depth to ground water was measured in each purged
well to ensure that a minimum of 80% of the well volume had recharged Water samples were
' collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer Each water sample was transferred
into three chilled 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% HCL as a sample preservative and into
' one 1-liter amber bottle After collection, the samples were labeled and placed in a chilled container
for transportation under chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI), a California
SDepartment of Health Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory located in Pacheco,California
' Each sample was analyzed for
Advanced G eoEnviron mental Inc.
