(Pacific),to describe the results of their subsurface investition that
was performed at the subject-site on July 25=26,,1995. During their investigation Pacific drilled four soil-
borings and converted each to groundwater monitoring wells. As part of their investigation Pacific also
conducted a database search to identify potential offsite contaminant sources.
Soil samples were collected during the drilling of all four groundwater monitoring wells. Samples from
each well/boring were analyzed for TPHGas and BTEX constituents. In addition, samples collected from
well/boring MW-3 were analyzed fbr total oil and grease, metals,TPHDiesel,VOC's,and SVOC's..
Except for the metals chromium;nickel and zinc, none of the above analytes were detected. The metal
concentrations detected appear to be representative of background levels.
After being installed, each groundwater monitoring well was gauged and sampled. The measured depth to .
groundwater beneath"the'site was approximately 43 feet.below grade. The measured direction of
groundwater flow was toward the southwest. Groundwater samples were collected from each well and
analyzed according to the protocol described above for soil..All analytes tested for were non-detect with
the exception of 6.0 ppb tetrachlorethene and 26 ppb cadmium from well MW-3:Results of•soil sampling
at the site:.suggest no onsite source of these contaminants. Further groundwater monitoring will be
44 performed to confirm their presence.
Results of Pacific's data base search identified 19 hazardous material sites within one mile of the subject
site. Two of these were leaking UST sites. The closest of these two is a Circle K located approximately. _
350 feet to the northeast(up gradient). Results of groundwater.analyses suggest no petroleum hydrocarbon
impact from offsite sources.
If you have any questions or.comments,Tcan be reached at(510) 842-8695.
