(Blaine tech),to describe the results-of groundwater monitoring that was performed at
the-subject site on July 31, 1996.
In July Blaine Tech gauged and sampled all three site-related-wells. The measured direction of
groundwater flow was toward the southwest.'Groundwater.samples from each well were analyzed for the
presence BTEX constituents,MTBE,and halogenated volatile organic compounds(HVOC's). There were
no detections of BTEX constituents measured at any well.MTBE was detected at 7.9 ppb and 4.1 ppb at
wells MW-1 and MW-2, respectively. There were detectable concentrations of tetrachloroethane measured i
at wells MW-1 and MW-2. The measured levels were consistent with those detected during previous }
monitoring events.
Attached you will also find, a report dated September 10, 1996, that was prepared by Chevron's
consultant, Gettler-Ryan, Inc. (G-R), to describe the formal abandonment of groundwater monitoring
wells MW-1,MW-2, and MW-4. Groundwater monitoring well MW-3 was previously abandoned on
April 18, 1996, i
The attached reports represent the final docurrents'rclated to environmental investigations at the subject
site. The site was recommended for case closure and formal approval was received in a letter from your
agency dated September 20, 1996.
If you have any questions or comments,I can be reached at(510) 842-8695. k
Sincerely,
F?iyfiteCi
