After reviewing our files and the 22 December 1997 "Work Plan for Underground Storage Tank <br /> Replacement"by Pacific Environmental Group, Inc. for Tosco,Harlin Knoll and I agreed in a 13 <br /> January meeting to delay issuance of a"No Further Action Required" letter. The following issues need <br /> to be resolved: <br /> + The original underground storage tanks (USTs)were removed. However,the treatment and <br /> disposal of the residual petroleum product, and the disposal of the tanks and associated <br /> piping needs to be reported. <br /> The amount and final disposal of the stockpiled contaminated soil from the removal of the - <br /> original USTs need to be reported. <br /> • During the removal.of the current tanks and associated piping, Tosco has proposed to <br /> conduct further investigation, if necessary.
