This letter is being <br /> submitted pursuant to CRA's November 30,2009 letter to Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board (RWQCB) staff which presented the proposed plan for water supply well sampling. The <br /> proposed February 18,2010 due date for this letter was extended to March 8,2010 based on <br /> Shell's February 17,2010 telephone conversation and subsequent February 23,2010 meeting <br /> with RWQCB staff. The RWQCB requested that Shell sample the three water supply wells <br /> located approximately 1,000 feet northwest of the Site. The proposed plan specified submittal <br /> of the following information prior to sampling the wells: <br /> 1. Contact the well owners, <br /> 2. Field verify the well locations to determine if the wells actually exist,and if so, to determine <br /> the specific well location, <br /> 3. Determine the well's operational status,use,and construction, <br /> 4. Submit the findings of tasks 1 through 3 along with a specific well sampling protocol in a <br /> letter report to RWQCB staff,and <br /> 5.
