SECoR <br /> International Incorporated <br /> September 19, 2001 <br /> Project 077.43586.101 <br /> Ms. Margaret Lagorio <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Weber Street, 3rd Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Re: Work Plan for Site Assessment <br /> Chevron Service Station#20-8118 <br /> 3355 East Hammer Lane <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms. Lagorio: <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), on behalf of Chevron Products Company <br /> (Chevron), presents this work plan for site assessment activities consisting of the <br /> drilling and installation of three groundwater monitoring wells and the possible <br /> advancement of eleven cone penetrometer test (CPT) borings along the eastern and <br /> Il southern property boundary. The purpose of this assessment is to determine if methyl <br /> tertiary butyl ether (MtBE) is a potential threat to a municipal supply well located to the <br /> east of the site (Figure 1). <br /> This work plan includes a brief discussion of site background, summary of previous <br /> investigations, and proposed scope of work. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is an operating Chevron service station located in a commercial area of <br /> Stockton, California. The current station facilities include three dispenser islands under <br /> a canopy, two gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs), and a station building 1 <br /> McDonald's. Figure 2 shows the current station facilities. <br /> Information on any previous investigations was not available. <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work for this site assessment will include the drilling and installation of <br /> three groundwater monitoring wells at the general locations shown on Figure 2.
