Request for Closure — Response Page 2 of 2
1140 West Hammer Lane (a.k.a. 7835 Thornton Rd.) March 12, 2015
Stockton, CA 95209
the leak. However, bubbling in the stagnant water was still observed and indicates that a leak
may still exist. Inform the EHD of repairs required prior to conducting repair work. Also,
redevelopment of MW-12 is necessary. According to the Stratus representative onsite, MW-12
was measured to a total depth of approximately 41 feet bsg. As MW-12 is screened 48 to 58
bsg, the screened interval appears to be silted and/or obstructed.
The EHD directs that the potential hazard posed by vapor intrusion be evaluated and determine
whether direct contact with contaminated soil or inhalation of petroleum contaminants volatized
to outdoor or indoor air poses a threat to human health. If necessary, submit a work plan to
acquire any data needed to evaluate the vapor intrusion hazard.
If you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact Gabriel Gonzalez at (209) 468-
3442, or by email at gagonzalez@sjcehd.com.
Sincerely,
A4 a,
Gabriel Gonzalez, EHS Nuel Henderson, PG
Environmental Health Specialist Engineering Geologist
c: Scott G.
