Gabriel Gonzalez [EH]
From: Gabriel Gonzalez [EH]
Sent: Wednesday, December 31, 2014 2:00 PM
To: 'Scott'
Subject: RE: Hammer Lane site
Thank you for the information Scott. I will note the information below and discuss it with our geologist when I receive
the 4th quarter status report.
Gabriel
From: Scott [mailto:SBittinger(astratusinc.net]
Sent: Wednesday, December 31, 2014 1:54 PM
To: Gabriel Gonzalez [EH]
Subject: Hammer Lane site
I've been discussing this in the recent reports, but I believe that this site warrants closure consideration. We have been
running an ozone injection system for 27 months or so. Over this time, groundwater contamination levels have
declined, and for the past three quarters (2nd/3rd/41h) benzene levels in groundwater have been below the 3,000 ppb
level required for closure under the low threat closure policy.
It certainly doesn't hurt to keep pumping ozone into the ground, but at some point the benefits are going to diminish. If
you would, please keep this in mind when you receive the 4th quarter status report.
Scott
1
