This CAP <br /> ' summarizes previous environmental work and available data, presents a plan to remediate <br /> groundwater containing petroleum hydrocarbons underlying the site, and describes the proposed <br /> method for groundwater remediation. <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site Description <br /> ' The Knowles property is located in a commercial area at the southwest comer of the intersection <br /> of West Hammer Lane and Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California, as shown on the Site <br /> Location Map (Figure 1). The site is currently a vacant lot, but previously operated as a retail <br /> gasoline facility which distributed regular, unleaded, and premium unleaded gasoline. The fuels <br /> were stored onsite in four 6,000-gallon and two 12,000-gallon underground fuel storage tanks. <br /> The former underground gasoline storage tanks and associated piping are shown on Figure 2. <br /> 2_2 Proximity of Private. Municipal and Irrigation Wells <br /> ' Well location data within a 112 mile radius of the site was obtained from the California <br /> Department of Water Resources (DWR).
