Box 388 <br /> 304 East Weber Ave., Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California, 95201-0388 <br /> Subject: Summary of Remedial Activities &Request for Site Closure <br /> KJAX Radio Station Transmitter Site <br /> San Joaquin County Site Code 2598 <br /> 5451 East Harding Way <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Woodward-Clyde Project No. 8054 <br /> Dear Ms. Turkatte: <br /> Woodward-Clyde Federal Services (WCFS) is pleased to submit this letter report presenting the <br /> results for soil excavation activities conducted on behalf of the Federal Emergency Management <br /> V+ Agency (FEMA) at KJAX radio station transmitter (site) located at 5451 East Harding Way in <br /> Stockton, California (Figure 1). The soil excavation activities were conducted according to <br /> WCFS's "Work Plan for Remedial Activities" dated February 23, 1996. The work plan was <br /> approved by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) in their letter to <br /> KJAX dated April 23, 1996. The objective of the excavation activities was to remove <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon contamination remaining in soil below the north end of the former <br /> " FEMA underground storage tank (UST). This letter report is divided into the following <br /> sections: Background (tank removal and site characterization activities); Field Activities; <br /> Analytical Results; Data Review; Site Restoration; Conclusions and Recommendations; and <br /> Limitations. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at 5451 East Harding Way, 1/4 mile west of Beyer Lane, in Stockton, <br /> California (Figure 1). The site consists of a generator shed containing a propane generator and <br /> an equipment shed, both located on a concrete pad (Figure 2). One aboveground propane tank <br /> is located in a grassy area east of the concrete pad. The site is enclosed within a chain-link <br /> �- fence.
