1210 E. Hammer Lane, Stockton
Page 2
• Any change in the characteristics of the contaminant plume will be
evaluated by EHD and some wells may be required to return to quarterly
sampling with analysis for all constituents of concern. Ultramar is to
submit a chart/table that shows each well, the quarter it will be sampled,
the analytes to be tested for and the analytical methods to be used. This
'r easy-to-read table should.be included in the next quarterly report to
incorporate these approved modifications.-
Recently, onsite and offsite subsurface borings were placed with soil and
groundwater samples collected for laboratory analyses. The report of findings
for this lasthase of work should include a site conceptual model. If data
P P
indicate that significant gaps in continuity exist or the lateral and vertical extents
of the groundwater petroleum plume are,not defined, Ultramar is to include a
discussion in the report on how and when the data will be obtained or definition
provided.
EHD appreciates Ultramar's willingness to investigate and remediate this site.
and reduce costs where applicable. In the future, similar requests for modifying
established investigative protocols should be supported by the site conceptual
model. Cross sections with well screens and contaminant concentrations super-
imposed are a great help in understanding movement and trends in the
groundwater petroleum plume.
Please continue to address your reports''and correspondence to Michael Infurna
and you may contact him at (209) 468-3454 should you wish to call.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Enviro ental Health Division
Michael J.
