HARLAN ROAD,
FRENCH CAMP, SAN JOA QUIN COUNTY
I have reviewed the 19 June 2000 Well Survey Results letter report (Survey Report) submitted by Metcalf
&Eddy, Inc. (M&E) for the ContiGroup Companies, Inc. (CGCI) French Camp Elevator facility(site).
At least five water supply wells near the site (designated wells 15, 19, 55, 56, and 57 in the Survey
Report) have potentially been affected by site pollutants. Additionally, the site may be within the
groundwater capture zone of a municipal well (designated well 54). The Survey Report does not state
the municipality that owns the well. CGCI needs to sample the five nearby wells and the municipal well
to evaluate the potential effect from site pollution.
Please contact the well owners and arrange to sample the above-listed wells, and by 1 September 2000,
submit the analytical results and recommendations for additional sampling and/or a plan and schedule to
remediate wells containing site contaminants, or provide an alternate water supply, if appropriate.
If you have any questions regarding this project, you may call me at (916) 255-3077.
'-'Jt
J0ME O, HG
Asneering Geologist
cc: Mr. Jeff Wong, San Joaquin County Health Department, Stockton
Ms. Linda Huff, Huff& Huff, LaGrange
Mr. Joe Weidmann, Metcalf& Eddy, Santa Barbara
California Environmental Protection Agency
N RarvrlaA Pn...
