City of Stockton sites Page 2 134 Sutter The soil sample collected beneath the underground storage tank (UST), formerly located where the Market Street Parking Garage office is currently located, did not evidence contamination. However, the soil sidewall of the UST excavation was observed to have contamination at the time the UST was removed and PHS/EHD staff advised the contractor that the area would have to be investigated, if a sample was not obtained at that time. PHSIEHD has requested further investigation of this area in previous correspondence. A monitoring well has been installed about 50 feet west of this former area as part of another site investigation (145 S. Sutter Street. Stockton)_ After reviewing the groundwater sample results from this monitoring well and inspecting the site, PHS/EHD has determined that further investigation should not be required and will request concurrence on this determination from the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board. 1701 Washington The closure plan to close the underground storage tank piping in place has been submitted to PHS;EHD. Once the piping is closed in place PHSIEHD will request concurrence from the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCS) for no further action required at this site. 1767 Hammer A report of the mass of contaminants remaining at this site has been submitted to PHSIEHD. After PHSIEHD review of the report, concurrence from CVRWQCB for no further action required at this site may be requested. Royal Oaks at Princess The City of Stockton Municipal Utilities staff had previously informed PHS/EHD staff that a work plan to investigate the site would be submitted. To date a work plan has not been received. PHSIEHD staff reviewed the file and inspected the site an October 27, 1998. A work elan to define the lateral and vertical extent of the soil contamination (through 2 or 3 probes or borings) and determine if a groundwater investigation is necessary should be submitted by January 15, 1999.. 1465 Lincoln This site has been placed an the PHSIEHD contaminated site list_ PHSIEHD staff observations in April 1995, when three 12,000 gallon USTs were removed, and the laboratory data from the soil samples collected beneath the south ends of those USTs indicate there is soil contamination. The soil samples collected during an environmental assessment in April 1994 evidenced some contamination at 20 feet below ground surface (bgs). Groundwater is currently at about 25 feet bgs. A work plan to define the lateral and vertical extent of the soil contamination and determine if a groundwater investigation is necessary should be submitted by January 15, 1999. In addition, there is piping associated with a former 1000-gallon waste oil UST that has not been sampled beneath and the piping still requires closure in place.
