V
1805 Harbor, Stockton
Continental Grain, Page 2
I
A separate site assessment investigation was performed by Kleinfelder in October 1999.
PHS/EHD recommends reviewing the'report of the site assessment as the information
may be pertinent to your investigation.
The vertical definition of the plume has.not been defined. PHS/EHD recommends an
addendum to the above-referenced work plan that will define the vertical extent of the
contamination in both soil and groundwater. Instead of delaying the proposed work
because BSFN'has not granted permission to drill on their property, PHS/EHD
recommends modifying the location of the exploratory borings and monitoring wells
to Harbor Street. The work plan addendum should also include a proposal to conduct
a 2000 feet well receptor survey in accordance with Appendix B of the Tri-Regional
Board Staff Recommendations. All wells identified in the survey and the k
location/addresses on a map along with:any known construction details of the wells
should be provided. Submit a work plan addendum to PHS/EHD by April .1, 2000.
Work should commence no later than May 1, 2000.
Please feel free to contact Jeffrey Wong at (209)468-0335 if you have any questions.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
. 1
L'La
JY g ,
Jeffrey Won REHS Margaret agorio, REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
c: RWQCB, Central Valley Region - Marty Hartzell
c: Additional Responsible Party: Penny Newman Grain, 1805 Harbor St.,
Stockton, CA 95203 - Robert Mentelos
fax: ATC Associates, Inc. - Drew Van Allen
w
I
t
