STOCKTON CA 95203
The San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD) has reviewed the "Monitoring Report Fourth Quarter 1998, Continental
'i Grain" dated December 29, 1998 prepared by ATC Associates, Inc. Analytical results
of the water samples collected from Monitoring Well #2 (MW-2) were 47,000 parts.per
billion (ppb) of total.petroleum hydrocarbon as diesel (TPH-d), 790 ppb of TPH as gas
(TPH-g), and 4.6 ppb of aromatic hydrocarbon as Benzene. Analytical results of water
samples from MW-3 were 1,000 ppb of TPH-d and 120 ppb of TPH-g. MW-2 was
I
installed in the middle of the area where the former (UST)
tan
e underground storage g ( T)
was located, and MW-3 was installed approximately 40 feet southeast of the former
UST. The groundwater gradient direction is south-southwest. Directions south and
southwest of the former UST have not been accessed because of the property
I boundary.
PHS/EHD recommends additional work to investigate the extent of.the
contamination south and southwest of the UST. 'Permission to drill on the adjacent
railroad property or an encroachment permit from the City of Stockton should be
obtained. Please submit workplan to PHS/EHD by June 30; 1999.
I£you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeffrey Wong at (209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
11
i Jeffrey Wong , REHS Margaret Lagono, REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
4 c: RWQCB, Central Valley Region -Mark List
C.* ATC Associates, Inc. -Drew Van Allen
A Division of San Joaquin Counry He akrh Care Services
