The purpose of the
subsurface investigation is to determine the vertical and horizontal extent of soil and groundwater
contamination in the vicinity of the former 10,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST). This
work being done at the direction of San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental
Health Division (PHS/BHD) in correspondence dated February 18, 1998.
The scope of work includes obtaining permits, advancing three soil borings and collecting soil
samples, installing three groundwater monitoring wells, developing the wells, collecting
groundwater samples, laboratory analysis of selected soil and groundwater samples, and preparing
a summary report. One
soil sample was collected from beneath the 750-gallon UST and one soil sample was collected
from each end of the 12,000-gallon and the 10,000-gallon USTs. Analytical testing indicated the
samples collected from beneath the 10,000-gallon and 750-gallon gasoline USTs contained
wA62500Veportslwkpwe1.doc 1
