PHS/EHD letter dated March 7, 1994, informing you that the site was on our list of
contaminated sites and that based upon priority ranking of the contaminated
underground storage tank(UST) sites there would be future directives issued by our
agency to begin the site investigation.
2. SJLHD letter dated March 21, 1988, stating that contamination from the UST's was
documented and that further assessment was required.
3. SJLHD inspection report indicating strong petroleum odor to the soil under the Unleaded
UST.
i
4. Laboratory results of soil[sample analysis from soil samples collected beneath the UST's j
at the time of their removal. II
I
5. A list of consulting companies that have provided their Statement of Qualifications to our
office and that have performed work in San Joaquin County.
6. California State Water Resources Control Board Cleanup f=und Application, in case you
are eligible for and would like to apply for cleanup cost reimbursement.
The inspection report and laboratory analysis indicate that further investigation of the regular and unleaded
UST areas is warranted. Please be informed that the detection limits used by the laboratory in 1988 for
benzene, toluene, and xylene were elevated,'current detection limits are.005 mg/kg and analysis for
volatile total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH)was not performed, only extractable TPH. Thus the SJLHD
inspection report that notes strong petroleum odor to the soil is significant in the requirement for further
investigation.
If you have any questions contact me at(209) 468-3449 or Bruce Askanas at(209) 468-0331.
Donna Heran, RENS
Director Environmental Health
Margaret agorio, Supervising REHS
Site Mitigation Unit
Enclosures
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
