The <br /> purpose of the additional activities is to evaluate.the horizontal and vertical extent of impacted <br /> `soil and groundwater of the site: This workplan addendum has been prepared in response to San <br /> Ioaquin County , Public . Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) <br /> correspondence dated March 20,'2000. ATC's Workplan for Additional Subsurface Investigation <br /> at Continental, Grain, 1805 Harbor Street,. Stockton, California, dated June 28, 1999 was <br /> approved by PHS/EHD on July 1, 1999 with minor modifications. <br /> The additional scope of work includes advancing one deep°soil boring in the center of the <br /> hydrocarbon. plume,. soil and -groundwater sampling; laboratory analysis of selected soil and <br /> groundwater samples, performing a well survey, .and preparing a summary report. The scope of I� <br /> work is described in detail in the following paragraphs. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Advancement of Deep Soil Boring <br /> To evaluate .the vertical.extent of soil and groundwater contamination at the site, one soil boring <br /> will be advanced to a depth of approximately 50 feet. below ground surface (bgs) utilizing a <br /> hollow stem auger equipped drill rig. The boring will be placed in the vicinity of former soil <br /> boring S132, which contained the highest concentration of total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel <br /> (TPHd) in groundwater.
