Weber Street, Third Floor or deviation of requirements of State laws or <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 Local Ordinances. <br /> Subject: Revised Workplan for Soil Excavation and Additional Subsurface Investigation <br /> at Inland Paint Company, 117 West Harding Way, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr. Infurna: <br /> ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this revised workplan on behalf of Inland Paint Company for <br /> excavating contaminated soil and performing an additional subsurface investigation at the above <br /> referenced site. This work being done at the direction of San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) in correspondences dated April 16, 1998 <br /> and June 15, 1998. <br /> The scope of work for soil excavation includes the excavation, transport, and disposal of the <br /> existing backfill material in the former tank pit and backfill and compaction of the excavation with <br /> clean fill material. The scope of work for additional subsurface investigation includes obtaining <br /> permits, advancing three soil borings and collecting soil samples, installing three groundwater <br /> monitoring wells, developing the wells, collecting groundwater samples, laboratory analysis of <br /> selected soil and groundwater samples, and preparing a summary report. The scope of work is <br /> described in detail in the following paragraphs. <br /> STTE LOCATION <br /> The site is located on the north side of Harding Way and the east side of Pacific Avenue in <br /> Stockton, California, as shown on Figure 1. The vicinity of the site is primarily a commercial and <br /> residential area. The site is currently occupied by Inland Paint Company. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In March 1990, one 1,000-gallon UST and all associated piping and dispensing equipment were <br /> removed and transported off-site.
