 o
ASSOCIATES I N C .
from between 36.5 to 40 feet bgs and 41.5 feet bgs, the maximum depth explored, primarily
consisted of lean clay.
' Soils in approximately borings MW1 and MW2 from the surface to 6.5 to 10 feet bgs consist
of clayey sand. Soils from between 6.5 to 10 feet bgs and 11.5 to 15 feet bgs consist of lean
clay. Soils from between 11.5 to 15 feet bgs and 36.5 to 40 feet bgs consist of elastic silt and
varying amounts of poorly graded sand and lean clay in boring MW1. Soils from between
' 36.5 to 40 feet bgs and 43 feet bgs, the maximum depth explored in borings MW1 and MW2,
primarily consisted of lean to fat clay.
Soil in boring SB2 from the surface to 40 feet bgs was not identified by lithology because this
boring was advanced in approximately the same location as soil boring SBI and the soil
lithology from the surface to 40 feet bgs was identified in boring SB1. Soil in boring SB2
' from between 40 feet bgs and 41.5 to 45 feet bgs consist of lean clay. Soils from between 41.5
to 45 feet bgs and 51 to 55 feet bgs consist of sandy elastic silt. Soils from between 51 to 55
feet bgs and 67 feet bgs consist of fat and lean clay. Soils from between 67 feet bgs to 69.5
' feet bgs consist of silty sand, clayey sand, and poorly graded sand. From 69.5 to 70 feet bgs,
the maximum depth explored, lean clay with sand was encountered.
Soil in angle boring S132A from the surface to approximately 3.5 feet consists of fill material. Soil
in angle boring SB2A from between 3.5 feet bgs and 1 l to 15 feet bgs consists of lean clay and lean
clay with sand. Soil in angle boring S132A from between 11 to 15 feet bgs and 25 feet bgs. consists
' of elastic silt. Soil in angle boring SB2A from between 25 feet bgs and 27 to 30 feet bgs consists of
lean clay. Soil from between 27 to 30 feet bgs and 32 feet bgs, the maximum depth explored,
' primarily consists of sandy silt.
Soil in boring MW4 from the surface to approximately 21.5 to 25 feet bgs consists of elastic silt
' and elastic silt with sand. Soil in boring MW4 from between 21.5 to 25 feet bgs and 26.5 to 30 feet
bgs consists of poorly graded sand with silt. Soil in boring MW4 from between 26.5 to 30 feet bgs
and 39 feet bgs, the maximum depth explored, primarily consists of lean clay.
1 Soil boring/well construction logs are contained in Appendix C. A cross section depicting the site
stratigraphy was created and the location of the cross section is shown on Figure 3. The cross
' section is shown on Figure 4.
4.1.2 Petroleum Hydrocarbons in Soil
' A review of historical soil analytical data and field measurements indicate petroleum
hydrocarbon-affected soils are generally present at the highest concentrations in boring SB 1 and
' the soil samples collected during the over-excavation activities. Petroleum hydrocarbon
constituents were generally detected at depths ranging from approximately 5 to 20 feet bgs.
Petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were not detected in soil samples collected from nearby
angle boring SB2A or from perimeter soil borings MWI, MW2, and MW4 with the exception of
w:1172951reportsldosure.doc 4
