FIELD PROCEDURES
Ground Water MgMuring. Purging,}_gnd Sampling
The water level in each well was measured with an electronic water level indicator The wells
were checked for free product with a clean, Teflont bailer prior to purging and sampling When
free product was not observed, ground water from monitoring wells MW1 through MWS was
purged with a 2-inch diameter submersible pump Purging of the wells Included the removal of
approximately three well volumes of water from each well Ground water samples were then
collected with new polyethylene disposable bailers and decanted into appropriate sampling
containers provided by the analytical laboratory The samples were immediately placed in an ice
chest containing ice Samples were transported under chain-of-custody documentation to a
California Department of Health Services-certified laboratory for analysis of Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline using modified EPA method 8015 and Benzene, Toluene,
Ethylbenzene, and Total Xylenes using EPA method 602
. The purging equipment was cleaned with a solution of liquinox detergent and water between each
well to minimize the potential for cross-contamination All water removed during purging
operations was placed in sealed, labeled 55-gallon drums and stored on-site
INK
WALLACE KUHL
KeCY&M paper &ASSOCIATES INC
