JUL 26 193 03:37PM TRC PETALUM (707) 762-3614 P.4 Is SITE SAFETY PLAN Branson Cross Lumber, 11800 South Harlan Road, Lathrop, California 1.0 INTRODUCTION This Site Safety Plan has been prepared by TRC Environmental Consultants, Inc (TRC) for Barclays Business Credit to apply to work activities to be performed at the Branson Cross Lumber facility located at 11800 South Harlan Road in Lathrop, California. (Plate 1). The purpose of this site safety plan, is to define safety and occupational health precautions required to be taken when installing monitoring well(s) at the site to monitor the migration of a TGE plume from the adjacent Sharpe Army Depot. 2.0 FACILITY DESCRIPTION The subject property is currently owned by Branson-Cross Investment Company, a California general partnership. The subject property is a 41.72 acre parcel located at 11800 Harlan Road, Lathrop, San Joaquin County, California. The site has several structures including an office, a large warehouse, two mill buildings, a maintenance facility, and a fire protection reservoir with pump house. These improvements were built in 1986, The buildings were formerly occupied by Branson-Cross Lumber Company, Inc. The area surrounding the site includes the Sharpe Army Depot to the east, Interstate 5 and agricultural property to the west, vacant land to the south, and a mobile home park and Moor Mans facility to the north. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) topographic map of the area shows the subject property located approximately 2.5 miles north of the City of Lathrop. The elevation is approximately 15 feet above Mean Sea Level (MSL). The site is in the San Joaquin Valley, and is underlain by a complex sequence of interbedded sand, silt and clay of the Victor, Laguna, and Tulare formations. These formations are of continental origin and are discontinuous in their depositional patterns. These Ethological units are characteristic of continental fan and interfan deposits, and recent stream deposits. Fourprincipal aquifers have been identified in the Sharpe Army Depot area. The depths of the aquifers are 30, 60, 140, and 270 feet below the surface. The direction of groundwater flow in each aquifer is generally northwest. The direction of ground water flow may be influenced by local pumping, rainfall, and irrigation patterns. This may very seasonally, with local anomalies.
