JUL 26 '93 03:39PM _ETALUMA (707) 762-3614 F- <br /> 5.0 HAZARDOUS WASTE SAFETY TRAINING AND MEDICAL MONITORING <br /> Employees assigned to the project will have completed a 40-hour OSHAIEPA Hazardous <br /> Waste Site Investigation Health and Safety training course. Topics covered in the course <br /> include physical, chemical, and toxicological properties of hazardous materials; hazard <br /> evaluation and control; safe working practices; selection, care, and use of personal protective <br /> equipment (including fit testing); sampling and monitoring techniques and equipment; and site <br /> entrance and decontamination procedures. Supervisors will have completed an additional <br /> supervisor training course and will have annual refresher training as needed_ <br /> Tailgate safety meetings will be held where safe working practices, emergency procedures, <br /> personal protective equipment, and other item in this Site Safety Plan will be discussed before <br /> work begins. At the meetings, employees and subcontractors will also be informed of the <br /> location of services and the nearest telephone for use in emergency situations. The meeting <br /> participants, items discussed, locations, and dates will be recorded in a field log. <br /> Each field employee performing work at the site will be responsible for complying with the <br /> procedures described in this Site Safety Plan. The Project Manager may visit the site during <br /> the field investigation to evaluate the effectiveness of the program. <br />
