• Mr Kyle Christie Project 0805-140 02
July 28, 1995
Page 3
of approximately 0 003 (see Figure 3) The direction of groundwater flow is consistent
with previous sampling events Groundwater elevations increased approximately 1 83 feet
from the previous sampling event (February 1995)
Groundwater samples from each well were analyzed for TPHG and BTEX using
Environmental Protection Agency Methods 5030/DHS/LUFT and 5030/8020,
respectively The samples were analyzed at Columbia Analytical Services, Inc , in San
Jose, Cahforrua The results of these analyses are summarized in Table 1 Copies of the
chain-of-custody records and laboratory analysis reports are presented in Attachment B
Results of analyses indicated TPHG was detected in groundwater samples collected from
wells MW-1, MW-3, and MW-5 at concentrations of 84 parts per billion (ppb), 100 ppb,
and 5,000 ppb, respectively Benzene was detected at a concentration of 4 7 ppb in well
MW-1 and 560 ppb in well MW-5 TPHG and BTEX were not detected in wells MW-2,
MW-4, or MW-6 Concentrations of TPHG and benzene are shown on Figure 2
. ACTIVITIES PERFORMED DURING THE SECOND QUARTER
o Performed quarterly groundwater sampling
• Compiled and evaluated groundwater monitoring data
ANTICIPATED WORK
• ARCO will continue quarterly groundwater monitoring The next sampling event
is tentatively scheduled for August 1995
CONCLUSIONS
The groundwater flow direction has been consistently toward the east-southeast Dissolved
gasoline hydrocarbons were detected in groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells
MW-1, MW-3, and MW-5 but were not detected in wells MW-2, MW-4, and MW-6
Although TPHG was detected in the sample collected from well MW-3, the laboratory
indicates the result contains discrete compounds quantified as gasoline, and the chromatogram
does not match the typical gasoline fingerprint Dissolved hydrocarbon concentrations
generally were consistent with previous sampling events
•
SA"\PJ"8050805I400 2BS-94\pas 4
