. APPENDIX A
STATION 0548 REMEDIAL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
A soil vapor extraction (SVE) system was initiated on September 2000. A brief description and performance
evaluation of the remedial systems between April 8,2004 and June 9,2004 are presented below.
Soil Vapor Extraction System
The SVE system is comprised of 5 SVE wells (VW-1 through VW-5, where VW-5 is a dual completion well with
shallow and deep screen intervals), a King Buck MMC-5A CataIytic Oxidizer (Cat-Ox), and a vacuum extraction
blower as the primary treatment process for the SVE system. The catalytic oxidizer (Cat-Ox) for the SVE system is
currently operating under San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (SJAPCD) Permit to Operate
#4124 through September 30,2005. SVE system influent data is presented in Tables A-1 and a plot of SVE system
influent soil vapor concentrations is shown as Figure A-2. The following data are the results for the second quarter,
2004:
■ SVE system was 96 percent operational
■ Average flow rate of 65.8 standard cubic feet per minute
■ Gasoline, benzene, and MtBE were not detected in influent soil vapor samples. The system was in
compliance with the SJAPCD Air Permit's maximum allowable emissions for benzene of 0.15 lbs/day and
TPHg as 10 lbs/day. SVE system performance data is included in Table A-1.
■ The SVE system was shut down permanently on 6/9104.
Analytical Data Review
■ Based on the review of the electronic and hardcopy data (chain-of-custody records, blanks, dilutions,
holding times, LCS/LCSD results, MS/MSD results, and surrogate recoveries), the data are acceptable as
reported by the laboratory with no limitations.
i
I
Attachments: Table A-I - Soil Vapor Extraction System Performance Data
Table A-2 - Soil Vapor Extraction Emission Data
Table A-3 - Operational Uptime of Soil Vapor Extraction System
Table A-4 - Soil Vapor Extraction Wells Status Data Table
Figure A-1 - Soil Vapor Extraction Influent Concentrations
Figure A-2- Soil Vapor Extraction Mass Removal Trend
I
Attachment A-1--Remedial System Field Data Sheets,Analytical Reports,and Chain-of-
I
Custody Documentation
I
JABP-ARCOVern's Fiks)Station No.00548UQmr0410548-Sp performance Eval 2Q04.doc
