't
s n 1672 Hammer Lane
Soil vapor extraction well VW-5S was built with a screened interval extending from 5-95
feet below surface grade (bsg), and while depth to water across this site has ranged
from approximately 25-30 feet bsg since it was installed, the measured depth to water in
this well has ranged from approximately 9-15 feet bsg. No comment on or explanation
for this anomaly has been made by your consultants. This well is built in the same
borehole as VW-5D,whose depth to water has consistently measured within the.normal
_._range"for-the-siter—
If you choose to discontinue the interim remediation of SVEIAS at this site you may do
so. SJC/EHD directs that you proceed with submittal of the previously requested work
plan to investigate the vertical extent of the groundwater contamination, and to install
monitoring wells that will intercept first groundwater. In addition, a site conceptual model
must be prepared. These items due for submittal to SJC/EHD no later than
August 30, 2004.
If you have any questions please call Lori buncan at(209)488-0337
Donna Heran, RENS, Director,
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
