In this work plan, SECOR proposes
to destroy off--site monitoring well MW-12 by removing the traffic-rated well box and over
drilling the well to total depth to remove the well casing; then the borehole will be grouted
to ground surface using neat cement.
i
EHD approves the work plan with .the condition that a tremie pipe system is used to
backfill the borehole with neat cement to within three feet of the surface grade. Also,
groundwater expelled from the well during the grouting procedure must be contained,
! characterized, and properly disposed.
k By letter dated September 17, 2007, EHD approved the installation of onsite monitoring
well MW-13: By letter dated.November 13, 2007, SECOR notified EHD that fieldwork
involving the installation of MW-13 and destruction of MW-12 will take place December
10 through 14, 2007. Please submita copy of the encroachment permit from the City of
E Stockton, a well installation permit application and fee of $89, and 'a well destruction
permit application and fee of$60 to EHD by December 3, 2007:
EHD has reviewed the analytical data collected from quarterly groundwater monitoring
events and believes'MW-1R, MW=3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-8, and up-gradient well MW-10
may be moved from quarterly to the annual groundwater-monitoring program as annual
monitoring of these wells appears to be adequate to track the plume. However, continue to
monitor and report depth-to-water. measurements in these wells each quarter for the .
purpose of determining the groundwater gradient. .
a
{
