(Shaw) has prepared this _ <br /> work plan to perform additional groundwater assessment at Parkinson's Hammer j <br /> Interstate 5 (I-5) Arco in Stockton, California (Figure 1). The objective of this <br /> I <br /> investigation is to further define the lateral and vertical extent of dissolved petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MtBE) in groundwater. This work was <br /> requested by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) in a <br /> letter dated April 2, 2003. The proposed scope of work includes: obtaining the required <br /> boring and encroachment permits: advancing four cone penetrometer test(CPT) borings <br /> up to 90 feet below ground surface (bgs); collecting and submitting discrete groundwater <br /> samples for analysis; and preparing a report presenting the findings of the investigation. <br /> The scope of work described in this ,work.. plan is intended to comply with the <br /> California Code of Regulations Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 16, Underground Tank <br /> Regulations, and-SJCEHD guidelines. <br /> i <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located on West Hammer Lane east of I-5 in Stockton, California. The site is <br /> a privately owned Arco-branded service station that has retailed gasoline fuel for <br /> approximately 14 years.
