6
Since June of 1993, analyses of samples collected from Monitoring Well MW-2
have only indicated the presence of TPH-G and BTEX once, in March 1995. In
addition, this single anomalous detection was the only indication of the presence '
of TPH-G in this well since monitoring was initiated in November 1990 MTBE
was detected in the sample from this monitoring well at a concentration of only
6 4 ppb,
Since December 1993 analyses of samples a
y p es collected from Monitoring Well MW-5
indicate that BTEX has not been detected and TPH-G was only detected twice, at
concentrations of only 53 ppb in August 1994 and 56 ppb in December 1994
MTBE was detected at a concentration of 1,100 ppb in the sample collected from
this Monitoring Well
In summary, no TPH-G or BTEX have ever been detected in Monitoring Wells MW-
1 R, MW-3, MW-4, MW-6, and MW-7 With one exception, MW-2 has had no
detectable TPH-G or BTEX since June 1993, and the last four consecutive quarters
have had no detectable TPH-G or BTEX Monitoring Well MW-5 has had no
detectable BTEX since May 1994 and no detectable TPH-G since February 1995
MTBE was detected at a concentration of 1 ,100 ppb in the sample collected from
Monitoring Well MW-5
While we are not aware of the position of your agency on MTBE, some California
Regional Water Quality Control Boards do not consider MTBE to be a factor in site
closure consideration (State of California, July 1995) In view of the above
information we recommend that this site be considered for closure
SMTH✓+RV1W 194 2731QUlK 132 RPT 123 Apr 9B1
