Color Spot shall perform a survey of all wells within a 2,000-
foot radius,
i This survey should focus on identifying all well locations by
site address. Details of well construction, screened inter
. vals and depths should be included. This information may be
obtained from California State Department of Water Resources.
RESPONSE: SCD performed a survey of all wells within a 2,000-foot radius
xI of the removed UST (study area), on January 8, 1990. An SGD
staff geologist traveled to the offices of the State of
California Department of Water Resources, Central District
(DWR-CD), where the well drillers reports of all known water
wells within the study area were researched and reviewed. Due
to the Plater Well Privacy Act of 1952, photo copies of the
logs were unobtainable. However, the proper forms were
acquired to allow for the release of the well drillers reports
z i to a governmental regulatory agency. Following the authorize- E
tion of release of the logs by PHS-EHD, the requests for the t
r'✓ well drillers reports were submitted to DWR-CD. The reports
.1 were to be sent by DWR-CD directly to PHS-EHD. These reports
` contain details of well construction, screened intervals,
total depths, and depth to ground water and should be in your
files. A letter of transmittal, dated January 19, 1990,
requesting the well drillers reports is attached.
v
`i
rLlREQUIREMENT 2: Confirmation sampling of all wells within the 500-foot radius
should be performed immediately.
L If contamination is found to be present in any of the off-site
and/or on-site wells sampled, additional sampling may be t
i required by PHS-END and Regional Water Quality Control Board
i I ! (RWQCB).
1
The results of this sampling, along with a proposal for ground
water investigation should be submitted to FHS-EHD by Marc'
15, 1990. i
#
j
RESPONSE: SGD collected ground water samples from all (four) existing
i
`'` domestic and irrigation water wells within a 500-foot radius
of the:removed UST on January 9, 1990, A detailed account of
y
sampling.procedures and observations was documented by SGD in
.+ the previaurly mentioned report dated February 14, .1990.
